Cultural Life: Jamie Cullum, musician

Music

I became a member of Jack White's Third Man Records' 7-inch vinyl record singles club, which I thought was a great idea. I particularly like Dan Sartain, who is signed to the label. I also love Sweet Billy Pilgrim's album 'Twice Born Men'. It has been a while since I've played a record over and over again like this.

Television

I think 'True Blood' is fantastic – sexy, funny and frightening. They really get things like this right in America. Being a music geek, my favourite television show is 'Later with Jools Holland'.

Books

I finished the epic '2666' by Roberto Bolaño, which I loved, even through the most difficult sections. I got bogged down with the hedge-fund sections of Sebastian Faulks's 'A Week in December', so I gave it up to devour Paul Auster's 'Invisible'.

Films

I saw Terry Gilliam's 'The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus', which despite its flaws and the fact that I watched it at a mother-and-baby screening, was charming. 'Fantastic Mr Fox' is destined to entertain people for years to come. It was infused with the authorship of Wes Anderson, as much as Roald Dahl.

I love it that Jamie loved that book! Wub It´s one of my favourites ever. It took me months to read it but I didn´t want it to end!

Shocked and appalled that Jamie likes Sweet Billy Pilgrim.. I saw them as a support band and oh my god, they were absolutely shocking. Simply the worst support band (or in fact band, period) I've ever seen! Their music was dismal and they were so awkward on stage, the crowd were laughing *at* them.

Shocking choice there Jamie ph34r
