Will do! Laughing

I was going to watch GI Joe tonight but we couldn't get tickets. Ah well, I'll wait a few days. I'm not really all that excited about this movie, I predict it sucks anyway, but I just want to see how it goes. Sticky Out Tongue

So instead we watched Up (again). I've watched it last week. I love this movie! It's saaaad, but it has such a nice message in it. It's probably one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Wub

Seen that just now, Maria, but the link is not working anymore - something to do with Disney copyright. Mine still works - just tested it by showing to my friend. Sorry for not noticing any sooner. I was just mad with delight about new Burton movie!

I read that there's a remake planned of Yellow Submarine, talk about unnecessary Wacko

I also read a while ago that David Mamet will be scripting/directing a remake of The Diary of Anne Frank. I wonder if in his version she'll say...

F****, in spite of all the bull**** I still believe people are really good at heart!

Yes, I know that was sick and wrong but I couldn't resist. Rolling Eyes And I know he's done movies before that don't involve sex, violence, and profanity.

Saw "The Time Traveler's Wife" today. I had read the book, and I wasn't sure how they would do the movie. But it was really great, a tear-jerker for sure, I only had one piece of Kleenex with me and it was soaked by the end of the movie.

I watched Manderlay the other week, the sequel to Dogville (which I've never seen, though I don't think it mattered) - very mad!
Couldn't quite get used to it being played out on a stage and them miming knocking the door, etc. but the storyline was good, some of it was quite powerful and good delivery by the actors.

Just watched District 9. Still figuring out if I like this movie or not. Totally not suitable for kids though, too bloody and bits of meat flying everywhere. I'll never look at prawns the same way again......

The name "prawns" came from the MASSIVE cockroaches found in Joburg called "Parktown Prawns."

And the labs seen in the film were filmed at my school! Sticky Out Tongue

Long time since I set foot in the cinema ...
Last movie was "A perfect getaway" - not bad, but I already had to look up the title ...

Tomorrow the release of "9" - directed by Shane Acker and produced Tim Burton and only the latter name, makes me run to the cinema blindfold!

Hope to treat you an a good review shortly!

Anyone seen "Antichirst" by Lars Von Trier yet? Released here next week and next on my wish list.

Saw District 9 today and thought it was absolutely awesome! It felt so realistic esp. since it wasn't Americans/British accents. It was real for those 2 hours. And the aliens are portrayed in such a different light compared to other Sci-fi films. And I giggled everytime they were in the labs because it was clearly my school anatomy halls with aliens hanging from where our dissected cows and horses usually hang... Laughing

Went to see "9" last Saturday. Such potential but director Shane Acker has yet to learn that a story is more than gripping images. But as post-apocalyptic movies go: it's quite good, with a lot of action and great scenery, amazing puppets and baffling machines. And it ended way too soon for my taste! The man has a wonderful imagination, but next time: a better script, please.

Finally saw Angels and Demons! I did think it was much better than The Da Vinci Code. But then again I aways did like that story better. Was good fun and met my "Dan Brown Expectations" Laughing

Other than that I had a Coen brothers marathon; The Big Lebowski, The Hudsucker Proxy (though I actually only saw half!) and Raising Arizona. I think Lebowski was my favourite, I just love the dude and all that.

And finally, I watched Black Cat, White Cat which is subtitled (a Yugoslav film originally). It was a bit long winded - there's a wedding scene that just goes on for ages - but it was fun!

No one goes to see films anymore huh? Laughing

2 really good ones I've seen recently are Avatar and Sherlock Holmes.

The animation in Avatar was brilliant and I loved the togetherness! And Sherlock Holmes was just so witty and funny!!

Just watched Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief with Luke & we both loved it, lots of great cameos from Sean Bean, Pierce Brosnan, Rosario Dawson & Steve Coogan. Very Happy

Luke was a bit scared by Medusa (another amazing cameo by Uma Thurman) & the ending left it wide open for more sequels, as there are loads more books in the series. Smile

Want to see that one so badly!
Managed to first read the books, though, which makes me want to read the rest so glad the room for that is made in the film. Hope they make more.
Anything Greek mythology will get me happy (you can ask Phoe, she has mocked me for it several times...)
Saw Uma as Medusa in the trailer, looked like great graphics. As soon as I get money and it's still playing I'm going, if needs be alone!

Haven't seen many films in the cinema lately. Last one was The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Heath Ledgers last film. Loved how they solved the fact that they weren't done filming when he passed away. It completely fit the storyline, in fact I think it might have made it better (can't explain it better without giving too much of the plot away). I loved the film and I think anyone appreciative of Heath's prior work in playing a little weird roles will do too.

Went to see Law Abiding Citizen yesterday! Blimey, I've not been to the cinema to see such a terrifying film in my life. I normally avoid such things but thought the nitty grittness would be fun. It was but some of it really was horrifying. Just the opening scene Shocked
Good film though! Even if it was rather unrealistic in parts.

I also went to see Alice In Wonderland the other week. I enjoyed it from the cinematic aspect and I thought the costume design was the best I've seen in a movie, ever! Otherwise I thought it was OK. Fun to see in 3D but it won't be something I am interested in watching again.

I saw Remember Me last weekend. Admittedly, I went because of Robert Pattinson, but it is a FABULOUS movie. It is a love story, but it is also about dealing with family, and dealing with loss and grief. I am glad I hadn't heard any spoilers because the ending was really amazing. I actually sat through the credits just to process it. I definitely recommend it.

And it doesn't hurt that Rob is in almost every scene.

I got a message Friday congratulating me on winning tickets for a pre-premiere viewing today (it doesn't come out until Thursday here). Had no idea I had entered a contest, so nice surprise, a Rob freebie Laughing

I loved it!!! Must say it's a good typecast for Robert, I doubt he can pull of a comedy or anything but this type of role just suits him.
Loved the girl who played Caroline, such a sweet girl.

Did the same thing with the credits, Dana! Definitely needed that time
Knew the end was a shocker but so didn't expect that. Saw the date, then the fact he was in an office. Poked my friend and went 'omg are you thinking, what I'm thinking?!?!' I am a sap and especially when something like that catches me off guard, I do cry, so there were some tears. Not as a bad as a girl a little right of me who was just sobbing away at the end. Laughing
